The People's Artist of Russia, Raisa Maksimova, performed on stage just three weeks before her passing. This was reported by KP.RU, citing a message from Raisa Maksimova's daughter-in-law, Elena Shoiko.

She shared that Maksimova, after a prolonged illness, felt better and wished to reconnect with her audience.
The artist took to the theater stage and played a role in a production based on Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin’s work "The Queen of Spades." Maksimova portrayed Countess Tomskaya.

“The role was small; she only had three lines: 'Three, seven, ace...’” — noted the artist's daughter-in-law.

According to her, Maksimova was the oldest actress at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. On November 19, 2024, she received the Pushkin Prize. The publication highlights that it was extremely important for Raisa Maksimova to see her audience again, especially since she had spent nearly the entire summer in bed.

Raisa Maksimova's passing was announced on December 11. She died at the age of 95. Maksimova was born on November 2, 1929. She played roles in the film adaptation of Dostoevsky's novel "The Idiot," the drama "Widows," and the series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit — 2." She also participated in performances at the Moscow Art Theater named after A.P. Chekhov.
