The Russian Ministry of Justice has designated artist Anatoly Osmolovsky as a foreign agent, known for his roles in arthouse films during the 1990s. This information was reported on the agency's website.

Alongside Osmolovsky, contemporary art figures Ekaterina Margolis and Igor Ponochny (Alesha Stupin) also received foreign agent status. All three were accused of spreading false information regarding the decisions and policies of the Russian authorities, as well as participating in the creation and dissemination of content associated with foreign agents. The agency clarified that they all opposed the special military operation (SMO).

“Osmolovsky participated in creating messages and materials for an unrestricted audience as foreign agents,” the published press release states.

Additionally, Margolis and Ponochny “disseminated inaccurate information aimed at shaping a negative image” of the Russian army.

Previously, it was reported that an actor who left Russia due to the SMO complained about low income while in exile. Arthur Smolyaninov (listed as a foreign agent, as well as on the list of extremists and terrorists) attributed his financial difficulties to his move to Europe.
