Almost one third (31%) of Russians wish to travel more and discover new places for the New Year. This was revealed by a study from the online English language school Skyeng, the results of which are available to Life. The survey involved over 1,200 individuals aged 18 and older from Russian cities with a population of over a million.
Additionally, 30% of respondents expressed a desire to start exercising regularly and improve their nutrition, 25% wish to begin learning English, and 20% want to find a new hobby. Among those interested in learning English, 16% plan to enhance their speaking skills, while 13% aim to practice for 15-30 minutes daily.
“Every New Year, we see a traditional influx of students. This is because many include learning English in their list of New Year's resolutions. To avoid a drop in motivation, it's crucial to integrate language learning into daily life—even 15-30 minutes a day can yield significant results and help gradually move towards the goal,” noted Marina Evstratova, product manager at Skyeng.
A previous survey by kp.ru showed that one fifth (18%) of Russians vowed to start saving money in the upcoming 2025 year. They admitted to often making impulsive and unnecessary purchases, but they want to be more meticulous in budgeting next year. 14% of respondents promised themselves not to procrastinate and to become more focused and organized.
Earlier, Russians were informed about how to properly set New Year's wishes.
