A Japanese Ministry of Finance employee was arrested for taking photos under a stranger's skirt, reports Japan Today.
The incident occurred back in October when 44-year-old Yasutaka Yoneta was at the Minami-Osawa train station in Hachioji, a suburb of Tokyo. According to police, he photographed the underwear of a 20-year-old woman without her consent while riding an escalator.
It is known that the relevant photo was found on the official's phone during questioning regarding another incident. The suspect denied the allegations, claiming he does not remember the events of that day.
It has been reported that, in addition to his service at the Ministry of Finance, Yoneta also holds a position as a specially appointed associate professor at Tokyo Metropolitan University and is an employee of the ministry's Institute of Political Studies. The man is currently in custody.
Previously, a resident of Chita was caught for upskirting; he specifically went to a hair salon and took a photo of a woman under her skirt.
