The management of London’s Chelsea has issued a statement regarding the discovery of doping in midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk, who plays for both the team and the Ukraine national football squad. This information was reported on the club's website.
Chelsea explained that the player has been undergoing regular doping tests. They emphasized that Mudryk and the club will now collaborate with the relevant authorities to determine the cause of the adverse result.
News of Mudryk's doping emerged earlier on December 17. The 23-year-old Chelsea midfielder tested positive for banned substances during an unannounced check. It was noted that the athlete faces a suspension that could last until at least the end of the championship.
The Ukrainian joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for 70 million euros. In the current season, Mudryk has participated in seven matches of the English Premier League but has not made any goal contributions.
