Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma sustained a facial injury during the 16th round of the French football championship against Monaco. This was reported by RMC Sport.
The incident occurred early in the first half. Monaco defender Stefan Sings accidentally struck Donnarumma in the face with the studs of his boot, causing a laceration to his right cheek. The Italian goalkeeper was unable to continue the match and was replaced by Russian player Matvey Safonov.
It was later revealed that Donnarumma received ten stitches for the cuts. RMC Sport published a photo of the player with his cheek stitched up.
The match ended with a score of 4-2 in favor of PSG. Russian midfielder Alexander Golovin did not register any goal contributions for Monaco.
